Cory Martin
I majored in graphic design at the Art Institute of Charlotte in 2006 but started my design destiny long before my college days. I was painting and drawing since age 6, working in Adobe programs since age 14, and freelancing in Charlotte since 2006.
I started working for Belk Inc. in 2014 and as a Junior Art Director in Visual Merchandising and later moved to their Brand Experience marketing team. In 2019 I made a change from corporate retail and started working at LPL Financial in their marketing and research department. I balance my day job with personal creative work, like digital illustration, flow arts, and make-up and special effects artistry.
My creative approach—whether digital or traditional––is to always research my competitors or similar projects to get inspired. Then I use my knowledge of current design trends and application of branding if needed to create multiple design options for review.
I like to provide a full range of options, starting from “safe” design to out-of-the-box creative. From there I will finesse and find solutions that are not only contemporary, they are unique and appealing to the eye.
