5 Songs To Listen To If You’re In An LA Mood

LA music artists mentioned in text

Whether you’re in the mood for a song about the city of angels or simply want to see what up-and-coming Los Angeles artists are putting out, we’ve got it all covered for you! The city is such a hub of talent, so naturally, there are countless songs about the city where so many are making a name for themselves. Here are a few of our favorites we’ve been spinning lately!

‘Satellite’ – Harry Styles

Feeling a bit moody and tired of miscommunications? Maybe you should give ‘Satellite’ by Harry Styles a listen. The single is a fan favorite from his hit 2022 album Harry’s House. Starting out, it sounds almost ethereal, fitting for the song title, before falling into 80’s inspired pop with a rock and roll outro. It’s a little angsty and packs a punch, but it’s charming and comforting all the same. Perfect LA vibe, right?

‘Boys’ – Atta Boy

This track really is a gem. Atta Boy is an LA-based indie-pop quartet. If you’re a fan of artists like Orla Gartland, Beach House, or Wallows, then you’ll love this band. Their new single ‘Boys’ is a sweet ode to friendship and knowing that someone has your back. We love wholesome energy at THP, so this song has already stolen our hearts. It’s giving the closing sequence of your favorite indie teen movie about navigating friendship and growing up when things have come to a happy conclusion. We think you and your besties will adore this single as much as we do.

‘Lay Low’ – Levi Evans

Levi is a real musical talent who loves to explore genres. His venture into alternative music has provided us with some really interesting songs over the past few years. We love the aesthetic of the music video with its pretty visuals and laid-back vibes. Levi also directed the music video as well as produced the song, his creativity is undeniable, and we can’t wait to see what he puts out next. Right now, LA music seems to be dominated by artists who are involved in all aspects of the creative process, and we love that. Oh, and he gets bonus cool points for being The Edge’s son.

‘A Loft in New York’ – Will Jay

We know this sounds a little unusual as it literally has New York in the title but bear with us. LA resident Will Jay likes to write about “The Beautiful & Wild Inhabitants of Los Angeles,” and this song, in particular, is about his friend Carlos and the aftermath of a party. The city that never sleeps would be a perfect place for the west coast party-goer to move to. That’s what Will thinks anyway. It’s such an interesting concept for a song, and listening to Will’s music makes you feel like he’s taking you on a journey. We’re loving this track and looking forward to his upcoming project, Someone On The Internet, which is due out later this year!

‘Damaged’ – yetep and KLAXX feat. GLNNA

Coming in strong at the end of the list are dance and electro-pop artists yetep, KLAXX, and GLNNA. If your LA music mood is to dance the night away, these guys have got you. Their new single, ‘Damaged,’ is about the journey to finding love through not feeling like you fit in. We love the concept, and its creativity is equally matched in the production choices. GLNNA’s soaring vocals are also a stand-out feature. We’re in a good mood from listening to this, and we think you will be too!
